What is the EM 385?
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Safety and Health Requirements Manual (EM 385-1-1) is the gold standard for Safety and Occupational Health regulations. What OSHA Form Does the EM 385 1-1 Require for Recording Contract Mishaps?
The OSHA form 300 is used to record work related injuries and illnesses. For instance:
Information about every work-related death and every work-related injury or illness that involves loss of consciousness, restricted work activity or job transfer, days away from work, or medical treatment beyond first aid, must be listed on the OSHA 300 Form. This information is collected by the Site Safety and Health Officer.
Significant work-related injuries and illnesses that are diagnosed by a physician or licensed health care professional are also recorded.
Work-related injuries and illnesses that meet any of the specific recording criteria listed in 29 CFR Part 1904.8 through 1904.12.
Reminders:
The contractor must complete an Injury and Illness Incident Report (OSHA Form 301) or equivalent form for each injury or illness recorded on this form. If you’re not sure whether a case is recordable, call your local OSHA office for help.
